30 kids died in last 48 hours at Uttar Pradesh o India due to lack of oxygen supply.
The contractor who used to supply oxygen cylinders to BRD Hospital had stopped his services over non-payment of dues. The hospital had not cleared his bill of Rs 6.9 million, sources said.
However, the hospital's Chief Medical Superintendent RS Shukla rejected reports that the kids died due to insufficient oxygen supply.
The state government has also rubbished reports about non-availability of oxygen at the hospital.
"We ensured oxygen supply to all the kids and no death has been reported due to insufficiency of oxygen," Shukla said, reports India Today.
Ever since taking charge as the CM of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has been stressing on improving the condition of medical and education sectors. However, the latest incident has raised serious questions over the lackadaisical approach of his government.
In April, the Yogi Adityanath government announced that it has started work on setting up six AIIMS and 25 new medical colleges in the state, one of the promises the BJP made in the run-up to the assembly polls.
