US team to go to Singapore for DPRK summit

The White House Saturday said a team is still heading to Singapore this weekend to work on logistics for a possible summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, according to AP.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Saturday that the “pre-advance team for Singapore will leave as scheduled in order to prepare should the summit take place.”

Trump cancelled the June 12 summit on Thursday, but then a day later suggested it could be back on track.

The White House team will be led by Joe Hagin, who is deputy chief of staff for operations. An advance team goes out ahead of all scheduled presidential teams.
