The government has amended the ride-sharing policy allowing a single vehicle to get enlisted with more than one company.

According to the amended policy, car owners will have to pay separate fees for getting registered with each company.

The Road Transport and Highways Division under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges brought some changes in the Ride Sharing Service Guideline 2017 following demand from car owners.

Currently, a car owner can get registered with a single ride-sharing company.

App-based ride-sharing services was launched in the country in 2015 after the cabinet approved the guideline in January of the same year. More than 120,000 cars and motorcycles were enlisted so far under different companies.
