The Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has exempted store rent for apparel exporters until May 04, 2020 to expedite delivery of imported containers from the port.
The CPA issued a circular on Monday requesting the members of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) to take delivery of their imported goods from the port.
The CPA exempted the store rent amid congestion in the port due to COVID-19 situation.
Earlier, the CPA had exempted the store rent until April 20, 2020. The waiver has been extended following demands by the BGMEA and BKMEA.
