The number of bus registration in the country has almost doubled in nearly a decade, thanks to people’s growing purchasing power as well as soaring economy, according to an official data.
A total of 23,641 buses were registered during the period between 2011 to June 2020 while the number was 27,778 until 2010, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
The BRTA data showed that a total of 20,566 buses in about one decade from 2011 to June 2020 were registered in Dhaka whereas 16,783 were registered until 2010.
As many as 1,501 buses were registered in the country from January to June 2020, it added.
