A total of 1,501 buses were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in the first six months of the current calendar year.
Of the buses, 1,245 were registered in Dhaka during January to June 2020, according to data provided by the transport regulator.
The data also revealed that 3,606 buses were registered in 2019 while 2,755 buses in 2018 and 3,760 buses in 2017.
