A total of 11,464 auto-rickshaws were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) across the country in the first four months of the current calendar year.
Of them, 5,667 were registered in Dhaka, according to the transport regulator.
A total of 21,638 auto-rickshaws were registered alone in 2018, the BRTA data showed.
The data also revealed that 274,812 such modes of vehicles were enlisted till 2018.
