Two members of ‘Allahr Dal’ held in Khulna

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two suspected members of banned militant outfit ‘Allahr Dal’ from Khulna Railway Station in Khulna district on Sunday morning.

The arrestees were identified as Moshiar Rahman, 52, son of late Altab Hossain, and Md Jahangir Alam, 47, son of Chandi Morol of Santosnagar village in Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore district. 

Tipped off, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive at the railway station and arrested the duo at around 10:10am while they were waiting for a train to return to Jashore, UNB reported citing a press release.

During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they had long been involved with the militant outfit.

The duo was in the district for collecting money and recruiting activists, according to the press release.   

RAB had arrested five suspected members of the same militant outfit from Labanchhara area of the city on December 29 last and three others from Baniakhamar area on December 3 last.
