The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lodged a case for alleged embezzlement of 2,850 kg of rice against a dealer of Patuakhali meant for the government’s Food-Friendly (Khadya Bandhob) Programme (FFP).
Deputy Assistant Director of ACC Integrated Patuakhali District Office Md Arif Hossain filed the case under Section 409/420 of the Penal Code, 1860 in Patuakhali.
Abdul Hai Sikder, a dealer of Dashmina Union Parishad in Dashmina upazila of Patuakhali district, was accused in the case.
The dealer embezzled a total of 2,850 kg rice of 19 beneficiaries of the wards number eight and number nine of the Dashmina Union Parishad under for the government’s Food-Friendly Programme, according to the case statement.
