Police arrest another suspect over Abrar murder case

Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested another suspect in Buet student Abrar Fahad murder case on Sunday.

The arrestee was identified as Mahmud Setu, a student of batch-14 of Buet and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla Hall. He completed his BSC from the Department of Chemical Engineering in last April.

Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (media) of DMP, said Mahmud was arrested from Banglamotor area in Dhaka around 7:00pm, reports UNB.

Mahmud’s name is not included in the FIR, he said. “We arrested him after finding his involvement in the murder.”

Abrar, 21, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department, was beaten to death reportedly by Buet unit’s Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall.
