A tribunal will deliver its verdict in a case filed over the much-talked-about murder of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi on October 24.
Feni's Women and Children’s Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mamunur Rashid will deliver the verdict in the case, reports bdnews24.com.
After completion of hearing arguments from both sides, the judge fixed the verdict day, state prosecutor Hafeez Ahmed said.
The student of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasa had been tricked onto the roof of the madrasa where the perpetrators set her on fire on Apr 6 for not withdrawing the sexual assault case against Siraj-Ud-Doula.
The Police Bureau of Investigation submitted the chargesheet against 16 people in the death of the student to the court.
They are: principal SM Siraj-ud-Daula, Nur Uddin, Zobair Hossain, Shakhawat Hossain Jabed, Absar Uddin, Abdur Rahim Sharif, Iftekhar Uddin Rana, Ruhul Amin, Umme Sultana Poppy, Kamrun Nahar Moni, Maksud Alam, Hafez Abdul Kader, Imran Hossain, Mohiuddin Shakil, Mohammad Shamim, and Shahadat Hossain Shamim.
Nusrat’s brother Mahmudul Hasan Noman filed a case on the incident on Apr 8 naming eight people, including the principal as the main accused.
Nusrat, 18, died on Apr 10, five days after the attack, in a Dhaka hospital. Her death turned the attempted murder into a murder case.
