The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) continued its eviction drive against illegal establishments in the city on Monday.
Officials of the DNCC conducted drives at the city’s Karwan Bazar, Farmgate, Khilkhet, Uttara and Mirpur areas to oust illegal establishments on footpaths and along roads.
DNCC Executive magistrate Md Sajid Anwar led drive in Karwan Bazar and ousted over 300 illegal establishments, and over 500 illegal establishments from the footpaths and roads in Framgate and Indira road.
Executive Magistrates of DNCC SM Shafiul Azam conducted drive at Mirpur-6 and ousted 87 establishments there, filed two cases and fined Tk 220,000.
In Uttara and Khilkhet, DNCC executive magistrates Md Abdul Hamid Mia and Julkar Nayon evicted some 650 illegal establishments and fined Tk 48,000.
The DNCC drive against illegal establishments in the city will continue, said DNCC officials.
