No buses on four Khulna routes as owners go on strike

No buses left the district for Gopalganj, Barishal, and Madaripur since Friday morning as the Rupsa-Bagerhat Bus Minibus Owners’ Association started enforcing an indefinite strike.

Thousands of passengers are suffing immensely for the lack of transportation, reports UNB.

Khan Kamruzzaman, a member of the association, said they have been facing losses as some influential transport leaders had permitted illegal buses to ply on these routes.

The association’s President Md Nurul Haque Lipon said: “We’ve suspended buses and minibuses on the four routes to protest against the illegal plying of buses. We’ll continue the strike until it stops.”
