Liberation war affairs minister AKM Mozammel Haque has apologised for naming freedom fighters (FFs) in the list of Razakars.

Speaking at a programme in the city's Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday, he made it clear that his ministry had published the list just as received from the home ministry.

Replying to a reporters' question, the minister said that the Pakistani occupation forces might have added the names of the FFs to their collaborators' list.

Names of at least seven FFs, including Ghulam Arrief Tipoo, the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, appeared on the official list of Razakars drawing huge criticism.

In a first, the government published a list 10,789 Razakars on Sunday, the full of which Haque had said would be published in phases.
