The cold wave conditions that have begun in parts of the country for the last few days may continue for next 72 hours with a slight fall in the night temperature, according to the latest weather forecast.
Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged, the Meteorological Department said in the forecast valid for 24 hours from 9:00am today (Thursday).
The cold spell is now sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may spread, it said.
Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight till morning, the Met office added.
According to the forecast, rainfall for last 24 hours was zero till 6:00am today.
During the period, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 13 and 20 degree Celsius at its lowest and highest respectively.
Teknaf registered the country's highest temperature at 29.8 degree Celsius and Chuadanga the lowest at 7.9 degree Celsius during the period under review.
