Three people died after being struck by lightning at Kulpaddi village in Madaripur sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Billal Hossain 27, Sattar Akon, 30, and Hasina, 24.
Quoting family members and locals, Sawgatul Alam, officer-in-charge of Madaripur Sadar Police Station, said Billal was injured after being struck by lightning at around 1:30pm.
He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Sattar and Hasina were killed by lightning strikes around 1:40pm at their homes, the OC added.
Locals said the area was hit by thundershower between 1:30pm and 2:00pm.
Meanwhile, at least six people, including four of a family, were killed in lightning strikes in Chandpur and Magura around the same time.
