Int’l fire safety expo Feb 13 to 15

International Fire Safety and Security Exposition 2020 is going be held from February 13 to 15 at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre in the capital, says a press release.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi will be present as the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony. Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Sazzad Hossain, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim and BGMEA President Rubana Huq will be there as special guests.

Fire safety and security equipment of 25 countries including USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Turkey, UAE, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, India and Bangladesh will be presented there. Altogether there will be 75 stalls at the fair.

Side by side presenting the equipment, there will be five sessions at the three-day long event. 

Two seminars titled ‘Budget--Fire Safety and Security’ and ‘Digital Bangladesh and Smart City’ will be held on the first day.  

On the last day of the exposition, a roundtable titled ‘Fire Safety Issues in Bangladesh: Challenges & Way Forward’ will be held followed by discussion on ‘Awareness & Importance of AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)’ and ‘Electrical, Gaseous & Chemical Safety’.    

Total nine organisations will be awarded under commercial, industry and residential categories. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will be present as the chief guest in the concluding ceremony. Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Sazzad Hossain and Director General of RAB Benazir Ahmed will be present as special guests at the event.
