The Supreme Court has asked Grameenphone how much of its Tk 125.8 billion dues the mobile operator can pay the Bangladesh Telecoms Regulatory Commission (BTRC) now.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Thursday.
The order was issued at the time of hearing a BTRC petition seeking a stay on a High Court order that issued an two-month injunction on its move to realise the dues from Grameenphone.
The court asked the lawyers of the mobile network operator to inform it about the amount by October 31 -- the same date for further hearing in the BTRC petition.
Advocate AM Aminuddin and Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh represented Grameenphone, while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Barrister Khandaker Reza-E-Raquib appeared for BTRC.
