The government has decided to extend the ongoing general holidays until May 30 aiming to prevent the transmission of the deadly coronavirus as it continues to claim more lives and infect a larger number of people every day.
Farhad Hossain, State Minister for Public Administration Ministry, confirmed the extension on Wednesday, saying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities concerned to extend the general holidays until May 30.
A notification in this regard will be issued today (Wednesday) or Thursday, he added, reports UNB.
