The High Court directed the concerned government bodies on Thursday to continue selling daily essential commodities of Trading Corporation Bangladesh (TCB) to the people at upazila level until the end of ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan passed the order after holding virtual hearing on a report submitted by the government in the court saying that it had already started selling essentials to people at upazila level through TCB complying with the court' earlier order.
Deputy Attorney General Samarendranath Biswas, concerned state counsel, placed the compliance report in the court on behalf of the government while hearing on a writ petition filed on May 31 this year by a rights organisation, Law and Life Foundation.
