Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Sunday said the government will take all possible measures to compensate the fisheries and livestock sector affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The minister made the remarks while exchanging views with field-level fisheries and livestock officials from his residence on Bailey road in the capital on Sunday.
The minister also said the government has taken a comprehensive plan to provide all kinds of assistance to commercial entrepreneurs as well as marginal and small farmers across the country.
The government will extend its support to the farmers those who have been affected during the pandemic by providing financial incentives, low interest and soft loans, technical assistance and subsidies, Mr Karim added.
The minister also called upon the officials to stand by the producers and farmers involved in the production of milk, eggs, fish and meat.
