A total of four prisoners died in different jails across the country in January 2020, according to an independent rights body.
Of them, two were undertrials while as many others were convicts, according to a report of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).
Three of the prisoner deaths took place in the jails of Dhaka division and the fourth in a jail in Barisal division, the data added.
In 2019, a total of 58 people -- 36 undertrials and 22 convicts -- died in jail custody in the country, the ASK report showed.
