Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested five suspected robbers from Kalindi area in Keraniganj early Friday.
The arrestees were identified as Manik, 30, shamim, 23, Rezaul, 26, Jewel, 22 and Apu, 29.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-10 conducted a drive in the area along Jinjira-Nawabganj road in the night and arrested the robbers while they were taking preparation to commit robbery , said Shaker Mohammad, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station, UNB reports.
The elite force members also recovered four sharp weapons, five mobile phone sets and cash from their possession.
They were handed over to the Keraniganj Model Police Station in the morning.
