Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated across the country on August 1 (Saturday), as the new moon of the Arabic month of Zilhaj was not sighted in Bangladesh sky on Tuesday.
The information was revealed after a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office after Maghrib prayers, reports BSS citing a press release.
The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Nurul Islam.
