DNCC evicts 450 illegal establishments in city

Dhaka North City Corporation’s (DNCC) mobile courts evicted some 450 illegal establishments in the city and also fined Tk 300,000 on Thursday.

A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Mir Nahid Ahsan conducted eviction drives in the city’s Amtoli and Mohakhali area and removed some 250 illegal establishments from footpaths and roads.

Another team led by the DNCC’s executive magistrate Mohammad Sajid Anowar launched drives and reclaimed 30,000 square feet of space removing 200 illegal structures in the city's Gulshan 2 area.

Apart from this, the mobile court fined Tk 100,000 each to South Breeze, a developer company, and to Amin Jewellers at city’s Gulshan 2 area.

It also fined Tk 50,000 each to two departmental stores at Gulshan 2’s DNCC market.

Such drives and mobile courts will continue in the coming days, according to a press statement issued on Thursday.
