Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday fined different people and organisations a total of Tk 66,400 for violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in Dhaka and also fined 17 shop owners and 11 people including 22 vehicles in 50 cases for breaching the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
