Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate mobile court drives on Friday fined different people and organisations a total of Tk 24,700 for allegedly violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing coronavirus shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and fined 25 shop owners and six vehicles in 31 cases for breaching the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
