Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different mobile court drives on Sunday fined people a total of Tk 198,500 for allegedly violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing coronavirus shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and fined different people including motorcyclists and shop owners for ignoring the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
