Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate mobile court drives on Wednesday fined different people and business entities a total of Tk 39,300 for allegedly violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing coronavirus shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and fined 35 shop owners and 13 people including 8 vehicles in 56 cases for breaching the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
