A minor girl was raped by her neighbour at Panchpara in Chandraganj upazila of Laxmipur district on Thursday.
AbulKalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Police Station, said Belal Hossain, a neighbour of the victim, took the girl to his room after alluring her of giving chocolates in the afternoon and violated the girl.
Hearing scream of the victim, local people rescued the girl and took her to Sadar Hospital while Belal went into hiding, reports UNB.
Police later arrested Belal from the area.
