Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has installed disinfectant tunnels at the entrance of each and every police station in efforts to protect its staff and service seekers from the infection of the COVID 19.
The move was taken as per the instruction of the DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam.
Police officials said that the personnel working at the police stations are breathing a sigh of relief as the installation of sanitising tunnels there is expected to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus among them.
About 10 per cent of the corona-infected patients in the country are members and officers of the Bangladesh Police.
The lawmen, as the frontline fighters, have been playing a multifaceted role for the welfare of people since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus started in the country.
