The government has appointed Dr Jafar Uddin as the secretary of commerce ministry.
Jafar, who was serving as the youth and sports secretary before new appointment, will replace Md Mofizul Islam, said the public administration ministry in a notice on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
Mofizul went on post-retirement leave on September 8.
The government also promoted four secretaries to the rank of senior secretaries.
