Samples taken from an elderly man who died two days ago with fever, cold and cough in Satkania upazila of Chattogram tested positive for coronavirus.
Another man was also diagnosed with COVID-19 on Saturday night, said Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, Chattogram divisional director of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The deceased, 69, was a resident of Alinagar, UNB reported.
The other person is a vegetable seller at CDA Market in city’s Pahartali area.
Meanwhile, the local administration put five houses in the area under lockdown to avoid further transmission of coronavirus in the community.
Satkania Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nur-e-Alam said they have taken necessary measures to save the deceased’s family members.
