Speakers at an event called for enacting a law in order to protect people’s rights to food and nutrition.
They also urged all to wage a constructive movement that will work on people’s rights to food and nutrition security.
Speakers made the observation at the event titled 'Food and Nutrition Rights National Conference' held at The Institution of Engineer in the capital on Wednesday.
The programme was chaired by eminent economist Dr Qazi Khaliquzzzaman Ahmad.
He said Right to Food (RTF) is a movement that’s conducting campaign and undertaking multifaceted activities at national and local level to accelerate the ‘legal framework on right to food’.
To develop and formulate a legal framework and regulatory provisions as right to food Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua said he was working on a draft law and would provide with recommendation to the ministry of food very soon.
