Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate mobile court drives on Saturday fined different people and business entities a total of Tk 94,300 for allegedly violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing coronavirus shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and fined 38 shop owners and 11 people in 49 cases for breaching the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
