Ahmed Fazlur Rahman (Bahar), Former President of the Bangladesh Indenting Agents' Association (BIAA), died of old-age complications at his Siddheswari Residence in Dhaka early Tuesday.
Mr. Rahman (84) was Deputy Honorary Consul of Austria. He was the owner of Liberty International, a member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI), and former director of Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BMCCI).
He was also associated with Lions Club and several social organisations, says a media release.
Mr Rahman is the elder brother of Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, president of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bangladesh.
His Namaj-e-Janaza was held yesterday (Tuesday) at Siddheswari after Zohr prayers and buried afterwards at the Banani Graveyard in the capital.
He left behind two sons and two daughters, grand-children and a host of relatives, friends and well-wishers to mourn his death.
