The number of truck registration in the country nearly halved in 2020 compared to that of 2019.
A total of 4,719 trucks were registered in 2020 while it was 8,318 in the year before, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) data.
Of the total, 3,327 trucks got registration in Dhaka in 2020 while the number was 6,228 in 2019, the BRTA data revealed.
As many as 12,644 trucks were registered in 2018 and 10,353 such vehicles were registered in 2017, the transport regulator data showed.
