Some 2,391 trucks were registered with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in the first three months of the current calendar year, according to a government data.
Of them 1,716 newly-registered trucks were based in Dhaka, it said.
Last year, the number of truck registration was 12,663, which was 22.31 per cent higher than the previous year.
In 2017, the total number of truck registration was 10,353, said the transport regulator data.
