UZ Polls: Presiding officer dies of cardiac arrest in Naogaon

A presiding officer has died as he suffered a cardiac arrest while on duty at the Pathakata Government Primary School polling centre in Naogaon’s Mohadebpur upazila.

Mazedul, the headmaster of Hazi Dhanez Uddin High School, died around 8:30am on Monday, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mobarak Hossain said.

The poling, however, had not hampered and it was going on smoothly, he said.

Begun at 8:00am, the voting will continue until 4:00am without any break.

A total of Naogaon’s 10 upazila Parishads, out of 11, have gone to the polls this morning.
