Teenager shot dead in fierce clash in Faridpur

A teenage boy was shot dead and five other people were injured in a clash between two rival groups that took place at Faridpur’s Boalmari upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Syed Nazim Ali, aged 17.

According to Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Boalmari Police Station, there had been a long disputed issue between the chairman of the upazila and a former UP member over land control of the region.

As a sequel to the enmity, an altercation ensued between the supporters of two groups at around 8:00 am in Joypasha village.

The fierce clash left Nazim Ali dead on the spot, according to UNB.

On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
