Police detains three over Dhanmondi double murder

Police detained three people over the murder of two women in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka city on Friday night.
The detainees are – electrician Belayet, security guard Nuruzzaman, and Bacchu Mia, reports UNB.
Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, said, “We are interrogating them.”
On Friday evening, the bodies of Afroza Begum, 65, and Diti, 19, a domestic help, were recovered from a flat on the third floor of house No 21, on road 28.
Kazi Monir Uddin Tarin, deputy managing director of Creative Group and son-in-law of Afroza, said gold ornaments and cash were missing from the house.
Bachchu Mia is the bodyguard Afroza’s husband.
Tarin said Bachchu recently brought a new domestic help for his mother-in-law.
CCTV footage showed her getting out of the house on the day of the incident.
Police said they are looking for her in connection with the murder.
