Parliamentary committee suggests reserving 1.0pc quota for disabled

The parliamentary standing committee on the social welfare ministry has suggested the government to reserve 1 per cent quota in government jobs for the disabled people in line with the Disabilities Act.

The recommendation was made on Wednesday, a day after a government committee recommended introducing merit-based appointments of the first and second class officials, reports bdnews24.com.

 At present, there is 1 per cent quota for the persons with disabilities in government jobs.
