‘Miscreants’ hack drug suspect dead in Jhenaidah

Police said a man named in several narcotics cases has been hacked to death in Jhenaidah’s Maheshpur.

Maheshpur police chief Laskar Jayedul Hoque said a person had been detained and interrogated over the murder.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Md Wasim, resident of the upazila’s Anantapur village.

According to OC Jayedul, Wasim was called from his house over the phone around 10:15 pm on Friday night. His relatives later found his body near the home.

Wasim was named in two narcotics cases and was released from prison a few days ago, the OC said, reports bdnews24.

“A suspect, Kabil, 25, was detained and brought for interrogation. But he did not confess to any motive for the murder.”
