Lightning strike kills farmer in Nilphamari

A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at South Balapara village under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district on Saturday morning.
The deceased, Goljar Hossain (34) was a son of Ansar Ali who is a resident of the same area, according to BSS.
Jahurul Islam, Chairman of Balapara union parishad said a thunderbolt struck Hossain while he was catching fish in a swamp near his house, leaving him spot dead.
