Heroin worth Tk 41 million recovered in Chapainawabganj, none arrested

Police recovered 4.1 kg heroin from the bank of Padma River at Hakimpur in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Sunday night.
Idris Ali, the Officer-in-Charge (operation) of Sadar Police Station said, after being tipped off, a gang of Indian drug smugglers arrived here by a boat with a big consignment of heroin, a joint team of police and detective branch of police conducted a drive around 10:00pm.
Being chased by the law enforcers, the drug smugglers managed to flee the scene, said Police.
Later, police recovered 4.1 kg heroin worth Tk 41 million, he added.
A case has been filed in this connection, a news agency reported.
