Fire at Bhashantek slum in city

A fire which broke out at a slum in Dhaka's Bhashantek area early Thursday has been doused.

No causality was reported till filling of this UNB report around 8:30am, said Ataur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense control room here.

The fire at Bhashantek's Jahangir slum broke out at around 1:36am and spread soon, he added.

On information, 21 firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze at about 3:00am.

However, the origin of the fire could not be known yet, the official said.
