Friday, 21 June 2019
Train communication of Dhaka with northern and southern parts of the country was restored after four hours of suspension following the derailment of a compartment of a train at Salna in Gazipur district.
The train communications resumed around 1:30 pm after a relief train salvaged the train, said Subrata Das, in-charge of Joydevpur Railway Police camp, reports UNB.
Earlier in the day, a compartment of Dhaka-bound inter-city train ‘Rangpur Express’ from Rangpur veered off the tracks around 9:30 am when it reached Salna, halting train communications of Dhaka with the northern and southern parts of the country.
However, none was injured in the accident.
Two trains including Dhaka-bound ‘Sirajganj Express’ remained stuck at Joydevpur Rail Station following the incident.
