Customs seizes gold bars worth Tk 2.0m from Biman flight

Customs officers have seized 4.5kg of gold from an airplane at Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

The gold was seized from a Biman Bangladesh Flight BG-248 on Saturday, said Fazlur Rahman, a port customs officer.

The flight arrived at the Sylhet airport from Nepal around 12pm, he said.

“The customs searched the plane and found 40 gold bars wrapped in tape under a seat.”

The market value of the seized gold is nearly Tk 2.0 million, Rahman said. No arrests have been made over the incident, reports bdnews24.com
