Ctg transport workers call off strike

Following assurance from the administration, bus owners on Thursday evening withdrew a strike enforced on Chattogram-Rangamati-Khagrachhari route on Wednesday night.
President of Chattogram Transport Owners' Association Manjur Alam announced the decision following a meeting with the deputy commission, reports UNB.
Transport owners and workers enforced the strike from a protest meeting on Wednesday night protesting the jailing of a bus driver by mobile court.
On Wednesday, a mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, led by executive magistrate Md Deedarul Alam, sentenced the bus driver to three-month jail in Hathazari for not obeying the traffic rules.
