BD earns Tk 170 million through tea export

Bangladesh earned Tk 170 million in the last fiscal year through exporting tea.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed revealed the information while reply to a question from a lawmaker in the parliament on Monday.
Responding to another question, the commerce minister said the government has a plan to raise export of ceramic table wares to different countries including Europe and America.
Tofail said this sector has been included as the "special development sector" in the four-year (2015-2018) export policy, reports BSS.
"Under the policy, various financial and other benefits have been declared to strengthen the export base of the sector," he added.
